Our bedrooms are such a personal and private place for us. This is where we spend time reflecting on our days, napping after long work hours, and preparing for our busy days ahead. It is so important that your bedroom looks and feels the way you want it to. This is an area that you want to reduce stress and promote serenity. If the look of your bedroom is currently underwhelming or induces stress, you may want to consider making some renovations<\/a>. Today, we would like to give some advice on ways to achieve creating a bedroom straight from your dreams.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The biggest piece of advice we can give when decorating or renovating your bedroom is to stick to calming colors. No one is going to be relaxing in a bright yellow room, or sleeping peacefully under a neon purple comforter. Our minds are very receptive to colors and tones. Try sticking to something more neutral such as a cool toned white or a muted gray. This will create a relaxing and peaceful feel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lighting is another big aspect to be cautious of when remodeling a bedroom. Being in very bright or fluorescent lighting right before you fall asleep can disrupt your sleep pattern, leaving you feeling tired and sluggish in the morning. Find lighting that is soft, or even lighting that can be adjusted to best suit your needs at different times of the day. Wall sconces and chandeliers can be used to display lighting in a beautiful way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Feeling cramped or cluttered in your own bedroom is a horrible way to start and end each day. This is why it is important to give your bedroom plenty of open space. Too much furniture makes a room look smaller, and unneeded walls and cabinets take up valuable space. Try going with a minimal amount of furniture, and hire a contractor to remove anything taking up space, such as an oversized built in vanity for example. You could also install large windows, as they will give the illusion that the room is bigger.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
