As we all continue to feel the effects of COVID-19, many of us have found ourselves working out of our home rather than the office. Working from home can be stressful, and blur the line between your work and personal life. We have provided some tips to help aid the difficult transition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Designate a Workstation in Your Home:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Coming home from a long work day is a relaxing process that helps you unwind and decompress. By designating a workstation in your home, it helps keep this balance of work time and home time. Working where you relax, such as your couch or your bed, makes it harder to destress at the end of a busy day. By simply changing your physical location from a recliner or couch to a desk within your home will induce both productivity during your work day, and relaxation when it is over.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Set Your Alarm Each Day:\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      It is common to crave structure at a time that is so unpredictable and chaotic. By keeping up with a sleep\/wake routine, you will feel more in control. Waking up at the same time tells your body that it’s time to start your day and be productive while heading to bed on a consistent basis will let your body know that it is time to prepare for the day ahead of you\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      1. Stock up on Activities for the Kids:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Working from the confinement of your home has always presented its own set of challenges, but this time around the kids are home as well. It is impossible to get anything done if they are constantly requiring your attention. Try setting them up with some simple and quiet activities like puzzles or coloring books. This will keep them occupied without having to rely on the Ipad or television, giving you the opportunity to get your work done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          It is easy to feel guilty for letting yourself have a break while working at home. Many of us feel that because we are home we are already getting a bit of a break from our normal work environment. Be sure to give yourself a proper lunch break, and time to get up and walk or stretch as needed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            Keeping a planner to monitor your work schedule will help you stay on track and organized. There is satisfaction in checking items off of your list throughout the day.
