How to get your house back to normal after the holiday’s.

The time has come when all the holiday parties are over, it’s time to take down all of the decorations, organize all of the gifts, and get rid of anything related to the christmas time. We know you may have been dreading this but we have some easy tips for you to make this experience less miserable.

Tip #1 Clean up-
You have to first start by cleaning out the holiday decorations. Get rid of all of your old and broken decorations you may no longer use. Carefully wrap all of your new ones and store them away for next year. Untangle your lights and carefully place them away. You start to prepare for the disposal of your christmas tree or if you have boughten a artificial tree prepare to store it away for the next year. Get rid of all of the gift wrapping paper and boxes from gifts you had received. Clean out the leftovers of food left in your kitchen you know you will not eat. Finally, get rid of anything christmas related or colored. Switch out your red pillows on the couch, change the green table cloth in the kitchen and get rid of the pine smell in the living room from your christmas tree.

 Tip #2 Declutter-

Your home must be full of gifts you didn’t have prior to the holiday season, you will likely have clutter in the house. A useful tip would be throw out or donate three items you no longer need for every one gift you recieve. This will help making your house less cluttered. Find a place for all of your items in your house. This will help with deciding if you need these items or not in your household. You

may have bought to many boxes of lights so you need to make sure you have a receipt of the things you will need to return so you don’t have them in your garage collecting dust and you get your money back!

Tip #3 Everyone could help-
You don’t have to be in charge of this mess by yourself, have everyone in the family help pitch in. You could make putting away the ornaments on the tree a family bonding moment, playing music in the background as the kids hand you the ornaments and you and your spouse carefully storage them away. This is also helpful so you could oversee all of the decorations you have left from the holiday craziness. Everyone could get together and it would make your job 10 times easier.

Tip#4 Pack it up!-

Transparent storage boxes are the best thing ever created for the holiday season. You could easily see what is inside of them and they even make different colored lids which gives you the options for color-coding. You could also use storage bins for gift related tools like wrapping paper for next year. Storage bins are inexpensive and convent. They don’t ruin any of your decorations and you could leave them in the garage in a corner until the next time you need them.

Tip #5 relax!-
The time has finally come where all the stockings, wrapping paper, and confetti are all cleaned up and stored away for the next year. Your house is all cleaned up for the new year. You can finally sit back, open a bottle of wine, get in the cozy pajamas that your mother in law bought you and relax.
